Prissy Pajamas

This is Prissy in her pajamas getting ready for "night night". And yes I am crazy about this little puppy. I am not getting anything done these days. She is so darn cute. All she has to do is look up at me with those little eyes and I have to get down in the floor and play with her. When I take her out to potty, she hops across the grass like a little bunny rabbit. What in the world has come over me????? Haylee and Jack are crazy about her too. They carry her around like a baby. And of course, Big Doug loves her alot but he won't admit it. He came home from work at lunch time the other day just to check on her. It will be so funny to see this 6'6" guy walking this little toy puppy around. I am not sure about this training schedule that my vet gave me. I had to laugh when I started reading all about it. It reminded me so much on the schedule my babies were on when they were newborns. I am calling it the "Growing Puppies God's Way" or "Puppywise" training. It is hilarious what we will do for these little things.

Meet the Newest Member of Our Family

Meet the newest member of our family. This is our new baby. We haven't decided for sure what to call her yet. We are leaning towards either Precious or Prissy. She is 11 weeks old and is a Maltetzu (designer breed mix of a Malteese and a Shihtzu) puppy. She is so cute and cuddley. Yes. I have completely lost it. I was so anti-dog about a week ago and look what happened. I think my little girl prayed so hard for a puppy for her birthday that God changed my heart.

You Are Being Loved

You are being loved…right now…at this very moment.

Zephaniah 3:17 (Amplified Version)
17The Lord your God is in the midst of you, a Mighty One, a Savior [Who saves]! He will rejoice over you with joy; He will rest [in silent satisfaction] and in His love He will be silent and make no mention [of past sins, or even recall them]; He will exult over you with singing.

Zephaniah 3:17 (New Living Translation)
For the Lord your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

This is one of my favorite verses. How awesome is it to think that right now at this very moment He is loving us and singing over us!!! When I am in my car I love listening to Steven Curtis Chapman’s song that goes right along with this verse. It is called “You are Being Loved”. I tried to get the youtube video loaded but the embedding was disabled. However, you can go over to youtube.com and listen to it. Just type youtube.com and then search for "You are Being Loved" by Steven Curtis Chapman. You will be blessed.

Have a blessed day!

Peace during Uncertain Times Ahead

No matter how the election turns out, we must remember that God is in control and He works everything out for the GOOD of those who love Him and are called according to his purpose (Romans 8:28).

I am very thankful that we have the opportunity to vote and I realize that it is not always going to turn out the way we would like, but we have to remember that God is sovereign. Does that mean I don't worry about voting? No. As a follower of Jesus, I believe that we have the God-given responsibility to vote according to His Word. After reading Ephesians 1:15-23 I asked Him to make me intelligent and discerning in knowing Him personally and to open my eyes to His Word so that I may know exactly how he wanted me to vote. It was a no-brainer. Still having some uncertainty in my heart about the times ahead of us, I continued to ask Him for peace. I am so thankful that no name or no power are exempt from his rule and that he is in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments.

Lord,
Thank you that you are in charge and have final say on everything.

Ephesians 1:15-23(The Message)

15-19That's why, when I heard of the solid trust you have in the Master Jesus and your outpouring of love to all the followers of Jesus, I couldn't stop thanking God for you—every time I prayed, I'd think of you and give thanks. But I do more than thank. I ask—ask the God of our Master, Jesus Christ, the God of glory—to make you intelligent and discerning in knowing him personally, your eyes focused and clear, so that you can see exactly what it is he is calling you to do, grasp the immensity of this glorious way of life he has for his followers, oh, the utter extravagance of his work in us who trust him—endless energy, boundless strength!
20-23All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but forever. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church. The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ's body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.

Pumpkin Patch with my little Jack-O-Lantern

I love taking pictures of sunflowers.

Braxton and Jack

Jack, Christian, and Braxton

They loved the corn maze as well as the hayride.

This is Wilbur the Pig, my favorite.

This is Jack's first grade class.

Me and My boy!

It took him forever to pick out this pumpkin. They all looked the same to me.

Today, I went with my little first grader, Jack, to the pumpkin patch. I don't know about you, but I have been to many pumpkin patches over the past few years with my kids. Some good...some not so good. So I was not very excited about it at first. However, once we got there, everything changed. The weather was absolutely beautiful. The animals were delightful. Did I say delightful? Jack and I had a great time together. I started realizing that some day I would look back on this time and wish that I had it back. At one point, I reached over and held his hand, wondering if he would be embarrassed. But no...he leaned over and hugged me and held my hand through the hayride. Tears rushed to my eyes. Thank you God for this precious gift that you have given me.

Psalm 127:3
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.
Lord, plant Your Word firmly in Jack's little heart and increase his faith daily. Enable him to abide in Your love and derive strength from the joy of the Lord this day and forever.
